Events in the Community
Chillin with the Chamber
American Bank employees spent a Friday night "Chillin' with the Chamber." The Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce hosted an evening at the Chappapeela Sports Park Gymnasium with live music and delicious food and drinks from local vendors. Funds raised from a silent auction, raffles, and more helped the chamber maintain the historic Hammond Train Depot and fund essential Chamber programs and services.
Northshore Food Bank Drive
Our Covington and Mandeville branches encouraged employees and customers alike to join in the fight against food insecurity by hosting a food drive benefiting the Northshore Food Bank. At the end of a week’s time, we had collected 389lbs of non-expired, unopened, non-perishable food and goods as well as additional monetary donations. Patriot the Jeep transported all the groceries to the food bank in style! We were grateful to be able to help feed families in need alongside our customers.
Thanking Our Local Heroes
American Bank teammates thanked local first responders by delivering pizza and swag bags to St. Tammany Parish Fire District 12, the Covington Police, the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office, and the Covington Fire Department. Thank you to these essential workers for their incredible service and for keeping our community safe!
Sparks in the Park
We celebrated the 4th of July at Bougue Falaya Park's annual Sparks in the Park event in Covington! The free festival hosted families with food, music, and of course, fireworks. Employees handed out American Bank flags at our sponsor booth!
Customer Appreciation Day
Our amazing customers joined us for Customer Appreciation Day at our Terrytown Branch! We loved having the opportunity to chat with them in a relaxed atmosphere over delicious food catered by Nga Vu and Shawn Tran.
Golf Tournaments
We’re always willing to get a golf round in for a good reason! In the fall, American Bank employees will participate in a few golf tournaments benefiting local charities, like the American's Hero Golf Classic, benefiting the incredible Gary Sinise Foundation, which provides vital programs, services, and events for our brave wounded veterans.

Jefferson Chamber Foundation
American Bank employee Richelle Conway was selected to be a member of the Class of 2025 of the prestigious Leadership Jefferson program by the Jefferson Chamber Foundation. Leadership Jefferson is a 9-month initiative that empowers emerging leaders in our community to drive positive change. Its interactive workshops expose participants to local leaders and activists working to resolve critical issues, with session topics including civic and community engagement, healthcare, education and workforce development, equity and inclusion, criminal justice, and more.
Professional Women of St. Tammany
The women of American Bank regularly attend the Professional Women of St. Tammany's monthly luncheons. We recently sponsored one of these events tailored around the topic of professional branding. We love learning and growing with this group!

American Bank supports You Night Empowering Events as a Yellow Rose Sponsor for their new SheRose Experience. The SheROSE program encompasses a range of You Night’s healing arts therapies, crafted to provide women with a nurturing sisterhood and a hopeful path forward following a cancer diagnosis. We’re honored to support all of the inspiring women of the SheRose Class of 2024, especially American Bank's own, Vicky Talley.
